1D1F:Akufo-Addo Opens Tomato Processing Factory At Afienya

President Akufo-Addo in his quest to fulfill his promise of the one district one factory policy has on Thursday, 19th December commissioned a $23 million Tomato factory at Afienya in the Shia Osu-Doku Constituency of the Greater Accra Region.

It has been established by two Chinese Companies, Tianjin Limmin Condiments Co. Ltd. and Grand Rise Food Co. (GH) Ltd., to produce tomato paste, tomato ketchup and tomato juice and sauce, for both domestic and foreign markets.

The company is called Leefound Food Ltd and its total investment is about $23 million, covering a land capacity of 60,000 square including production workshop, finished products warehouse, raw materials warehouse, packaging materials warehouse, office buildings, among others.

Leefound Foods assured the president its preparedness to source fresh tomatoes locally from its own farms in the country.

Speaking at the commissioning of the factory, president Akufo-Addo said: “Shia Osu-Doku like the rest of Ghana is going to see serious transformation in the period of the Akufo-Addo Presidency.

He also encouraged the indigens of Shia Osu-Doku to give the chinese business men who have established the factory to give the their maximum support and coorporation so that everything will be a success.
