Akufo-Addo Has Made Ghana A Laughing Stock-Okudzeto Ablakwa Opines

Member of Parliament for North Tongu has descended heavily on President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo and has describe the fact that he went to beg Europe to cancel Africa’s debt as laughable.

He made this comment following the President using a whooping GHS2.8 million on just a private jet that transported him from Ghana to France and as he toured other countries like Belgium and Johannesburg.

The MP wondered why the President lives luxurious life only to beg the whites to cancel Africa’s debt yet the very people he is begging do not live such a lifestyle.

“People are saying you come to us, you say you need help, debt cancellation, but our president does not engage in such profligacy. They do not live in an extravagant way and for £15,000 an hour, the 23 hours that we used the aircraft, we have spent £345,000 at the current exchange rate, that is a staggering GH¢2,828,432.80”, he stated.

Worried Okudzeto added that the country is becoming a laughing stock.

“there is a lot we know in diplomatic circles; the behind the scenes talk that I cannot necessarily put out here but we’re becoming a laughing stock.”
