Recall that we reported on PSG star, Neymar Jnr, facing a 7 game ban after he was sent off the pitch for punching Alvaro Gonzalez from Marseille during their Ligue 1 match.
Neymar happens to be 1 of the couple of players who was sent off after a fight broke out between Dario Benedetto and Leandro Paredes which stretched out to different players prompting PSG’s stunning thrashing to Marseille.
As per reports, Neymar blamed Alvaro for racially mishandling him during their match. He unveiled that Alvaro considered him a monkey child a b*tch.
PSG has since reacted to the whole issue and as a matter of fact has released a statement to that effect. This is what the club had to say;
“Paris Saint-Germain strongly supports Neymar Jr. who reported being subjected to racist abuse by an opposing player.
The Club restates that there is no place for racism in society, in football or in our lives and calls on everyone to speak out against all forms of racism throughout the world.
For more than 15 years the Club has been strongly committed to the fight against all forms of discrimination alongside its partners SOS Racisme, Licra and Sportitude.
Paris Saint-Germain looks forward to the LFP’s Disciplinary Commission to investigate and ascertain the facts, and the Club remains at the LFP’s disposal for any assistance required”.
Well, information coming from the LFP disciplinary committee in France has their punishment for the players involved in the fight which led PSG to lose their match against Marseille.
As at Septemder 16, the French football governing body disclosed that PSG full-back, Layvin Kurzawa, has been given a 6 game ban for his role in kicking Jordan Amavi.
Jordan Amazi himself was also given a 3 match ban with his teammate Dario Benedetto receiving just 1 match ban. Neymar was given a 2 match ban with a suspended sentence with Leandro Paredes also given the same punishment.
