Several Security Personnels today stormed Parliament following several commotions recorded in parliament since the inauguration process of the 8th Parliament began.

The Police and Military personnels were heavily armed as they marched unto the floor clad in their full regalia to restore peace after some MP’s of the National Democratic Congress for the fourth time disrupted the voting process of the new speaker of Parliament.

The Minority in Parliament led by Hon. Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka continuously cause chaos just by carrying the ballot box away.

The Fourth time not only was a ballot box snatched but also the MP for Yapei Kusawgu, John Abdulai Jinapor was seen in a fist fight with Muntake Mubarak. According to the Minority, The NPP Lawmakers were breaking the order of secret voting by showing their ballot paper to their whip Frank Annor Dompreh before they deposit it into the ballot boxes.

The NDC were heard chanting a line from the anthem “and help us resist Oppressors rule with all our will and might forevermore”when the armed Military Officers barged into Parliament.
