Crime: EFCC arraigns man for N3.9m theft.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, has arraigned a man named Taofeek Adereti before the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja for the theft of N3,948,739.66.

EFCC arraigned, Adereti on a-three counts bordering on conspiracy and stealing.

The court was presided by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo on Thursday, September 17.

This information was disclosed by the EFCC on their official Twitter page and website.

EFCC reports that Adereti had allegedly stolen the money belonging to one Modinat Agbeniga.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled.

 “That you, Taofeek Adereti and Monsurat Adereti (still at large), on or about August 23, 2017, at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, dishonestly stole and converted to your use the sum of N2,854,494.52, the property of Mrs Modinat Agbeniga.” The charges read in part.

 Justice Taiwo ordered that the suspect be remanded in EFCC custody and he adjourned the case till September, 29 2020.
