Members of the representatives of Oil Companies’ host communities have exchanged blows at the House of Representatives on Thursday, January 28 during the PIB hearing.
It was gathered that the Niger Delta representatives were invited for the Petroleum Industry Bill hearing which was chaired by the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila. The bill has been on for over 20 years and there have been calls the passing into law.
Things took a huge turn after one of the Itsekiri reps stood up to speak however, he received open disagreement from the other members. This led to the string of blows and policemen at the hearing had to separate the fight.
