President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo has asked all Ghanaians who are against his burning of galamsey excavators initiative to go to court and vindicate their position.
The president strongly believes that his initiative is the best one and so any one who disagrees with him so go to court to help in strengthening Ghana’s democracy.
“I know there are some who believe that the ongoing exercise of ridding our water bodies and forest zones of harmful equipment and machinery is unlawful and in some cases harsh. I strongly disagree and I will advise those who take a contrary view to go to court to vindicate their position if they so wish. That is what the rule of law is all about,” the president stated.
The President made this comment while speaking at the sod cutting ceremony for the construction of the first phase of the Law School Village for the Ghana School of Law on Wednesday, 26th May 2021.
Some concerned citizens have criticized the President’s approach in stopping galamsey. Renowned Ghanaian journalist Kwasi Pratt Jnr is also against the burning of excavators and has said that it doesn’t make sense.
