Government must tax YouTubers and bloggers- Okraku Mantey

Following the successful approval of the Electronic Levy, Mark Okraku Mantey, Deputy Minister for Tourism has called government he government to focus on some online activities.

Speaking in an interview on GTV, he stated that in order for Ghana to thrive, everyone must give fair share through taxes.

He mentioned that the internet operations such as YouTube, Bolt Food and others being in some cash for the government.

” I support the E- Levy because skilled workers in the informal sector such as masons,carpenters and others do not pay direct taxes on their earnings but are quick to complain about bad governance.

He believes the E-levy will help SMEs continue business for longer periods of time as well as help the government tax YouTubers,Vloggers,and bloggers who earn money through social media and other online activities
