Government Will Invest Massively In Affordable Housing Projects Come 2021 – Says Ken Ofori-Atta

Ken Ofori-Atta who doubles as the Minister of Finance has disclosed that the government of Ghana is willing and prepared to invest massively in the Affordable Housing projects come 2021. He also stated on records that this move is actually part of the governments’ plans to revamp Ghana’s infrastructural sector in the next financial year.

Ken Ofor-Atta in presenting the 2021 budget for the 1st quarter before Parliament on Wednesday October 28,2020, disclosed that the whole move is to help facilitate job creation and also build skilss of artisans. This is what he had to say;

“A few days ago, my colleagues Hon. Atta Akyea and I joined H.E President Akufo-Addo to commission 204 new houses at Tema Community 22. These houses were largely constructed and supervised by local contractors and consultants under the National Mortgage and Housing Fund Scheme (NMHFS).

He continued; “This project was completed in 9 months, amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, and created over 1,500 jobs. We will replicated this housing model across the country and alongside the agenda 111 district hospitals programme”.
