The Executive Governor of Anambra State has announced the sacking of former CSP of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in the State, James Oshiom Nwafor.
Nwafor who was appointed by Obiano as a Special Adviser on Security was very notorious for ordering the killing of over 100 youths in Akwuzu.
In 2013, it was reported that Nwafor ordered the killing of about 35 youths, whose bodies were later dumped in the Ezu River. He was also accused of killing on Chijoke Iloanya and bragging to his parents that they can’t do anything. Several other cases were also levelled against him.
The youths of Anambra State have taken to the streets for days now calling for the the end of police brutality and the persecution of Ebonyi-born, Nwafor.
During the protest today, October 15 the governor joined and announced that Nwafor has been sacked immediately and persecution would begin soon.
Taking to his official Twitter account Obiano wrote;
“Second, James Nwafor, former OC SARS in Anambra State is sacked and will be prosecuted;
Third, I’ll ensure that the Presidency does the needful to ensure a better life for our youths, for us, ndi Anambra and for our nation.Long Live Anambra Youths! Aluta continua! “
