Gov’t Has No Interest In Covering Up Whoever Is Behind Ahmed Suale’s Death-Nana Akufo-Addo

President Nana Akufo-Addo has said that his government has no interest in covering whatever or whoever is behind investigative journalist, Suale Ahmed’s death.

Speaking at a special congregation held by University of Cape Coast (UCC) to confer a Doctor of Philosophy on the President he stated emphatically that his government is doing all it takes to arrest whoever murdered the President so he or she will be tried and punished.

Government has no interest in covering up whatever might be or whoever may be involved. There is no indication that his death was at the instincts of the government. In the end his murderer will be caught, tried and punished”, he stated.

He stressed that it is in the interest of the state, the people of Ghana and government that journalist are and feel able to go about their work in safety-something he will make a reality.

Nana Addo added that not all journalists are upright citizens just as politicians, painters and farmers are not all upright citizens. ”I do expert our institutions to deal fairly and equitably with all citizens according to the dictates of the law when people go wrong”.
