Most Nigerians are of the views that a 43-year-old shouldn’t be elected as the president of NANS buy young students at first degree level should. According to them, at his age Asefon is supposed to be vying for a seat in the House of Representatives or even the Senate.
Currently on Nigerian Twitter, the hashtag ‘#NANS’ is trending because of the violence at the elections and also because Asefon emerged as president-elect.
Some reactions read;
“Heard a 43 years old has been elected NANS President. That’s twice the age I was elected NANS President on 22 November 1990. How can a man in midlife crisis fight students causes? Nigeria is a parody!”
“NANS President-elect, Asefon Sunday was FESSU’s National President in 2010. He was also the Zone D Coordinator in 2013. He is 43 years old. What should an old man like him still be doing in NANS in year 2020 when Emmanuel Macron became the President of France at the age of 40..?”
“BREAKING: 43yrs old PGD student of EKSU, Asefon Sunday, emerges NANS President. So pitiful to see OLD MEN who should rather be more concerned abt contesting for Rep/Senate/Govr &welfare of their families at home administering the affairs of NANS. How old is France President?”
“Grandpa Sunday Asefon, the new NANS president, said nothing about #Endsars, is an Ekiti State Civil servant, is older than French President, Emmanuel Macron, and is a breath of fresh air.”
