Nigerian singer and songwriter, Eniola Akinbo professionally known as Niyola has opened up on why she has been away from the music industry for close to three years.

Niyola said that she actually lost her mother, father and a close friend in 2017 just after she left Empire Mates Entertainment founded by Banky W.

She disclosed this in an interview with renowned journalist, Kiki Mordi. The video of the interview was uploaded online by Mordi on Wednesday, December 2.

In her words;

“I can remember the last time I said I’m fine, I just say I’m okay…

” The sum total of it is that I lost my mum, I lost my dad, I lost a very close friend of mine

” Everything started the year that I left EME, which was the record label that I was signed to at the time, I didn’t even get the chance to announce it…”

The ‘Toh Bad’ crooner further revealed that she would become back to the music industry come Friday, December 4.
