A suspected car snatcher named Dare Williams, 23 has said that he stole the car because he wanted to feature Davido and Runtwon in his album.
Dare who claims to be a student at the Federal College of Eduction, (Technical) in Akoka, Lagos conneived with his friend named Betheal Chukwuocha, 18 to snatch a Toyota Corolla car from a cab driver named, Clement Aniegbe on Monday night.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu paraded the suspect’s on Wednesday, December 23. He revealed that the boys were armed with a kitchen knife and they ordered a ride from Lekki to Gbagada.
Odumosu further reveales that the boys then threatened the vict and sedated him before they made away with his car and mobile phone. He said that Dare claimed to be an upcoming artiste and he wanted to sell the stolen car so as to raise 1 million naira to feature Davido and Runtown.
While speaking to newsmen CP Odumosu added;
“They used knife and some substances suspected to sedatives to weaken the victim. The suspects claim to be students of the Federal College of Education, Yaba-Lagos.
“The suspected were arrested by police detectives attached to Sabo Police Station, Lagos State, on Tuesday, December 22, at Sabo while on their routine patrol. The detectives recovered the car and the knife used for the operation from them.
The case is under investigation and will be transferred to the State CID for further investigation.”
