Self-acclaimed face of Highlife music in Ghana Patapaa has announced that he will not be a part of the 2021 Vodafone Ghana Music awards which comes off few weeks ahead.

According to the Highlife artiste he will never be a part of the awards until organizers change their way of awarding artistes.

“The idea of awarding musicians is not something bad and the VGMA had been in existence for a very long time.

“I’m still not happy about the disappointment back in 2018 after my ‘One Corner’ hit song failed to win an award despite its positive impact on the global stage. I have decided not to partake in the awards scheme but I wish them well and urge them to do the right things,’’ he said.

Obviously the music star is unhappy about the award board swerving his ‘One Corner’ song as the Most Popular song of the year.

Patapaa also lamented on the fact that his colleague singer, Shatta Wale referred to him as underground artiste.

“I was very shocked when I was labelled an underground artiste considering my impressive records.

Meanwhile Fameye believes he deserves the artiste of the year award at the VGMA.
