I will still be acting even when elected as an MP – John Dumelo

Charismatic Ghanaian actor, turned politician, John Dumelo, says it would be “unfair” for him to bow out of the movie industry if he enters parliament.

The political aspirant who is eyeing the National Democratic Congress seat for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency held that it was acting that made him who he is today.

Talking about if he would still be acting, should he win the election to become an M.P he said “certain careers you just don’t hang your boots, there is always an aspect of it that follows you in life.”

To support his comment, he said that there are so many parliamentarians who still practice law or medicine and it will be the same for him.

He promised to “campaign with a clean heart and that is what will lead me to victory. I don’t campaign calling people names. It will not add a vote.”

John Dumelo has an acting career that spans more than 15 years. His first recognition as an actor came in 2009 when He won Joy FM’s Best Ghanaian Actor.
