Nigerian activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore has kicked against the strict conditions given to him on Monday, January 11.
Sowore was granted bail by the Magistrate Court sitting in Abuja, he was asked to provide two sureties in like sum, one of which must be a Civil servant who resides in Abuja and has up to twenty million naira.
The activist while speaking to journalists stated that he’s knows that he’s the target of the government which is why they granted him such strict bail conditions. He stressed that a civil servant cannot possible have 20 million naira in the country except that particular person is corrupt.
“I am their target as you can see, for the second time, the judge is asking me to remain in Abuja, I cannot travel abroad and giving a bail condition to produce a civil servant which is unlikely to want to risk his job,
*And to produce someone that has 20 million naira, if you are a civil servant and you have 20 million naira, you’re likely engaging in corruption”
