The management of Mainland Hospital in Lagos has alleged that the Lagos State Ministry of Health gave a clear directive not to release the bodies of deceased #EndSARS protesters.
This coming days after a public announcement was made by the Chief Coroner of Lagos State, Mrs Mojisola Dada which called on relatives of individuals who lost their lives between the 19-27 of October.
However, The Punch reports that the Mainland Hospital has refused families from coming to identify bodies at hospital’s morgue.
The Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Abimbola Bowale stated that the bodies of protesters cannot be released except Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu or the commissioner for health gives permission.
“It is only the commissioner (of health) or even Mr. Governor that can release the body to you, Sir. So, you will have to contact him.”
Reports also have it the morgue attendants were also given a strong warning against releasing any bodies of those that died before, during and after the #EndSARS protests.
Meanwhile, millions Nigerians are currently fuming about the news.. Most of them have even pointed out the fact that the government denied that people were killed but now they are heading bodies.
