Mahama’s Petition Does Not Have Any Purpose, Dismiss It – Nana Addo Urges Sumpreme Court In His Closing Address earlier reported Ex-president, John Dramani Mahama calling on the Supreme Court to uphold his presidential election petition and go ahead to nullify the EC’s declaration that His Excellency President Nana Akufo-Addo, won the December 7, 2020 presidential election.

In the closing address to the Supreme Court, lawyers for John Dramani Mahama (petitioner0 argued that the evidence on records including the Electoral Commission’s own declaration on Dcember 9 clearly proves that no candidate obtained more than the required 50+1 threshold.

The lawyers used the opportunity to urge the court to uphold John Dramani Mahama’s case for a run-off between John Dramani Mahama and President Nana Akufo-Addo. A closing address which was sighed my Mr. Tony Lithur.

Well, His Excellency President Nana Akufo-Addo has also described the December 2020 presidential election petition as frivolous and guess what, he has also urged the Supreme Court to dismiss his John Mahama’s case.

With regards to their closing remarks, Akufo-Addo’s lawyers argued that the petition which was filed by John Dramani Mahama has no cause of action because it does not meet the criteria for a presidential election petition as stated in article 64(1) of the 1992 constitution. A closing address which was also signed by Mr. Akoto Ampaw, lead counsel for President Nana Akufo-Addo.
