Manchester City players, Gabriel Jesus and Kyle Walker have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the club statement.
The duo will now undergo a period of self-isolation, along with two other members of City staff who have also tested positive for the virus.
A statement from the club stated, “Manchester City FC can confirm that Gabriel Jesus, Kyle Walker, and two members of staff have tested positive for COVID-19.
“All four personnel will now observe a period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine.
“Everyone at the Club wishes our colleagues a speedy recovery over the Christmas period ahead of their return to work, training and competition.”
The players will be unavailable until January, meaning they will miss the Boxing Day match against Newcastle.
The duo will also be out when City take on Everton at Goodison Park on December 28 and the trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on January 3, 2021.
