Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah finally speaks on “Lockdown” Rumors

Minister of Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has finally reacted to the rumors on going about a possible lockdown soon. The Information minister has revealed that the rumor is false despite the increasing numbers of the COVID 19 cases in the country.

According to the minister, the government is not considering lockdown now. “Rumors that Akuffo Addo government is considering a second lockdown because of the increase in the confirmed COVID19 cases are false”, Oppong Nkrumah said

A lot of workers were deeply affected in the first lockdown and this was a big worry since the unemployment rate was very high. On the 29th of March, the President announced a partial lockdown in some parts of the country. Kasoa, Greater Accra, Tema, and Kumasi were the affected areas and it started on the 31st March 2020.
