NDC Begs Ghanaians To Remain Calm As The Supreme Court Prepares To Announce The Verdict Of The 2020 Election Petition

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is calling on its supporters to remain calm ahead of the Supreme Court’s ruling on the 2020 December Election Petition which will be announced on Thursday, March 4, 2021.

The Supreme Court of Ghana is expected to deliver judgement on the petition filed by former president John Dramani Mahama come this Thursday. His petition to the Supreme Court was to organise a run-off between Nana Akufo-Addo and himself.

A statement which has been signed by NDC’s General Secretary, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, after a meeting with its National Executive Committe, urged the supporters of the party to continue to remain calm and wait for the verdict.

Part of the statement reads; ”It is the praye of NEC that the Supreme Court will uphold and promote probity, accountability and transparency, and give effect to the will of the people expressed on December 7, 2020 in its judgement on the matter”.

”The party will, for its part, stop at nothing to rid the Jean Mensah-led Electoral Commission of its partisan biases and prejudices, and ensure transparency and fairness in national elections”.
