NDC Suspends Ayawaso Constituency Chairman Over Gun Issues -Everything We Know

Report gathered from the camp of the National Democratic Congress indicates that the party has suspended its Ayawso North Constituency Chairman, Ahmed Tahiru.

According to the report gathered, Tahiru was suspended following a claim that he reported NDC’s National Vice Chairman, Alhaji Said Sinare, to the police with claims of the National Vice Chairman supplying guns to some youth to cause trouble in the upcoming December 7 elections.

According to Tahiru’s lawyer, Mr. Theophilus Donkor found 2 guns in an NDC vehicle he picked last sunday for some party activities. He however reported the case to the police and handed over the 2 guns, a pump action gun and an AK-47.

Reports has it that the Accra Regional Police Command has begun investigations into the matter and has also invited Alhaji Sinare to help with investigations. Alhaji Sinare has also claimed ownership of the pump action gun indicates that it was reported missing with a report at the Cantonments Police Station.

In explaining why Tahiru was suspended from the party, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman for the NDC, Mr. Ade Coker stated that the actions of Tahiru, according to the party is a total breach of Article 46 (8) of the party’s constitution. Apperently, he failed to follow the laid down reules for getting issues resolved in the party than running to the police.
