A few understudies of the Ashanti Region-based Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SHTS) have innovated a unique ballot box for casting votes.

In a transition to help address difficulties during voting, including numerous voting the school has developed a keen box which automatically counts votes.

The unique box, as indicated by the understudies, shows the total number of ballot papers in the box and furthermore keeps qualified electors from casting a ballot twice.

Clarifying how the unique ballot box functions, the Senior High School specialized understudies said “the smart ballot box has 2 compartments; the part that takes the paper from the citizen and the actual container.

The paper compartment has a paper roller made with some PVC pipes, a stuff engine, and a sensor to identify the elector’s closeness to the box, and it is programmed to take one paper at a time.

At the point when the citizen is about 40cm to the unique ballot box, the paper compartment is actuated to permit the voter to project his voting form. A red light is appeared to alarm the citizen that the framework is prepared.

At the point when the citizen puts the paper on the space provided, the framework will naturally take the paper from the elector and drop it into the container and consider it one and showcases the number on a screen for public survey. Ensuing, votes will be tallied and complete votes showed on the screen.

The Head of the Robotics Club, Solomon Nchor, in a blog entry, said he believes the venture will tackle difficulties related with voting processes in Ghana and the world at large.
