Nicki Minaj Drags The Grammy Awards For Not Giving Her The Best New Artist Award in 2012

American Rapper, Nicki Minaj has called out the Grammy Awards for not giving her the best new artist award in 2012 even though she had seven songs simultaneously that particular year.

This is coming after the 2021 Grammy Award nominees were announced on Tuesday. The rapper took to her Twitter page to state that she actually deserved the award because her songs were simultaneously chatting on the billboard.

Minaj was nominated alongside Bon Over, Skrillex, J.Cole and The Band Perry for that category but Bon Iver was the artiste that bagged the award.

In her words;

“Never forget the Grammys didn’t give me my best new artist award when I had 7 songs simultaneously charting on billboard & bigger first week than any female rapper in the last decade- went on to inspire a generation. They gave it to the white man Bon Iver. #PinkFriday”

This statementbhas sparked reactions from all over the world, some have supported her claim while others have said that Bon Iver actually deserved the award.
