Nollywood actor and philanthropist, Yul Edichie has advised Nigerian youths to aim higher when it comes to running for political seats in the country.
Edochie said the the major problem of Nigerian youths is that they don’t believe in themselves. He cited an example saying that an average Nigerian youths would make Mockery of his/her counterpart that wants to run for presidency or the Senate.
According to him, they would prefer to run for the House of Assembly. He also advised them saying that there are no impossibilities in life. The thespian made this call via his official Twitter account on Tuesday, December 1.
In his words;
“Tell the average Nigerian youth you want to run for Senate, Governor or President.
“He’ll laugh & tell you to go start from House of Assembly. That’s our major problem.We don’t even believe in ourselves.
“Know this: there’re no impossibilities in life. What you focus on grows.”
Meanwhile, Nigerians have reacted to Edochie’s comment, most of which have said that they are no longer myopic to politics.
“Eyes don open! Those manipulating rant doesn’t sell anymore. As long as politics is a game of numbers, this soro soke generation will dig out those numbers. In their myopic minds, they’ve conquered #EndSARS spirit, unknown to them they bottled an unfulfilled tornado.”
“Don’t mind some of our youth as some don’t even have believes in themselves…
“And that was how Yahaya Bello of Kogi state became a Governor by trying, so there’s never a sin or crime in trying.. Happy new month and God bless you sir”
“One reason is because the average Nigeria youths ain’t educated or informed either. Another is they believe more in powerful names than a powerful legacy & would rather judge a man based on his wealth & not his impact on societies. Lastly is lack of exposure of most 🇳🇬 youths.”
