A tanker transporting petrol has exploded on the Magboro Bridge section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Wednesday morning, December 2.
Reports have it that the incident happened around 6am however the fire burned for hours before the fire service got to the scene.
According to the Lagos Traffic reports, the fire fighters ran out of water at a point but they immediately refilled. It was also revealed that after the fire was put out.
The fire reportedly ignited again when the payloader attempted to clear the burnt vehicle from the road.This was revealed via their official Twitter page.
The tweets read;
“[10:04am] Just when we thought the matter had been laid to rest, when the payloader was clearing the burnt Tanker off the road, the fire ignited again.”
Meanwhile, commuters have abandoned the route as many eyewitnesses took to social media to warm the public against using the road. As of the time of filing the report it is not know if their was any causality.
