In Nigeria, one in every two graduates is unemployed. The country has a labour force of about a labor 80.2 million and about 21.7 million are unemployed or underemployed. The percentage of unemployment in Nigeria is about 30.7%.
This is a major reason why alot of young Nigerians are plunging into depression and are seeking solace in frivolities.
A young graduate in Kastina State named Usman Abubakar has set all his school certificates he took years to acquire ablaze.
The report of the incident was first posted by a Hausa news platform on Facebook on September 23.
In the photos accompanying the post it was established that the Usman has successfully completed the mandatory National Youths Service Corps Scheme and also obtained his certificate.
Usman reportedly has been seeking for a job and was unable to find none, out of anger he decided to burn all his certificates, thus believing in the notion most Nigerians believe in ‘school na scam’.
