Screenshots: President Akufo-Addo Finally Speaks On #EndSarsProtest After Serious Pressure From Ghanaians & Celebrities

You would recall that we reported on some Ghanaian celebrities taking to their various social media handles to call on His Excellency President Nana Akufo-Addo to quickly intervene in the killings going on in Nigeria as head of the Economic Community of West Africa. This actions of our Ghanaian celebrities resulted after a number of videos went viral regarding some Nigerian citizens being murdered in broad daylight with others at night around the Lekki toll booth.

Sandra Ankobiah, Ibrah One, Sadiq Baba and quite a number of Ghanaian celebrities have taken to their various social media handles to urge President Akufo-Addo to show authority as the head of ECOWAS chair.

Sandra Ankobiah, Baba Sadiq and Ibrah One had this to say to the President respectively;

”Mr. President  @NAkufoAddo..please show some empathy. Please show the Nigerian youth that you care. Please show some authority as the Head of Ecowas. Thank you” – Sandra Ankobiah

”President Akufo Addo’s long silence on #ENDSars as chair of ECOWAS does not only confirm his approval of the failed leadership being exhibited in Nigeria today but only goes to confirm his stance on using state sponsored security to supress freedoms. He is gradually becoming the poster boy and an “endorser” of lawlessness on the African continent. This is the man that presided over AWW violence by state sponsored security forces remember? #EndSars #EndPoliceBrutality #LekkiTollGateMassacre” – Baba Sadiq

”Nana Addo should prove to Ghanaians that he is the head of Ecowas by put a stop to what’s going on in Nigeria. #ibrahone” – Ibrah One

Well, the president of the land and the chair for the Economic Community of West Africa has finally spoken regarding the recent killings going on in Nigeria. According to Nana Akufo-Addo, he has spoken to President Buhari and that he is committed to to resolve the whole issue. He also disclosed that he has started the processes that will lead to a reform. This is what he had to say;

”I join all well-meaning persons in calling for calm, and the use of dialogue in resolving the #EndSARSimpasse in Nigeria. I have spoken with President Buhari, who is committed to this end, and has begun the processes that will lead to reform. Violence, be it on the part of the Police or protesters, cannot be the solution. To the families who have lost their loved ones, I express my sincere condolences, and I wish the injured a speedy recovery.”
