Security agencies vow to thwart the incoming attack by Boko Haram Insurgents.

Following the reports of the presence Boko Haram terrorist and their planned attack in Abuja, several security agencies have sent out alerts to their workforce in preparation to foil the supposed attack.

In line with this development the Defence Headquarters (DHQ)bhas announced that the armed forces and other security agencies would ensure effective surveillance of the Federal Capital Territory and other states of the country.

It is alleged that the insurgents have set up camps at Kunyam bush along Airport Road, off DIA Staff Quarters, Abuja; Robochi/Gwagwalada forest; Kwaku forest, Kuje, Abuja; Unaisha forest, Toto Local Government of Nasarawa State; and Gegu forest, near Idu town in Kogi State.

The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. John Enenche has assured Nigerians that preventive and pre-emptive intelligence was ongoing to thwart the plot. He made this call on Sunday September 7 via an official statement titled, ‘Security alert: Defence headquarters assured residents of FCT and adjoining states of safety’.

The statement urged Nigerians to go about their day-to-day activities without fear.

“The Armed Forces of Nigeria working together with other security and response agencies particularly the core intelligence agencies hereby assure the general public that preventive and preemptive intelligence is ongoing. The general public is thus advised to go about their lawful businesses undeterred.”
