Seven Nigerians Set To Be Deported For Protesting Against SARS In Cairo, Egypt-Chairman NIDCOM Reveals.

Seven out of the eight Nigerians arrested on October 19 in Cairo, Egypt for protesting against brutality meted by member of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad SARS will soon be deported.

This development was revealed by Abike Dabiri-Erewa the Chairman of the Nigerians In Diaspora Commission ,NIDCOM via her Twitter page on Monday, November 2.

According to her, 7seven of the Nigerians lacked resident permits but still went on protest which was why they would be deported.

She tweeted;

“Update on the 8 Nigerians detained in Cairo for protesting without a permit 7 of them  are to be deported to Nigeria for for lack of resident permits.The only one that has Residency  will get final clearance from the Minister of Interior

“After signing an undertaking not go against laws of Egypt. The Nigerian mission in Egypt is still appealing for leniency on behalf of the seven slated for deportation.”
