“She Wanted To Be Doctor To Save Other Children” Father of Student Who Had 7As in WAEC Painfully Recounts How She Died(Video).

Professor Felix Chukwunoke, the father of Chisom Chukwunoke the student who had 7As in her WAEC in 2019 has recounted how his daughter died and the dreams she wanted to achieve.

Tributes to the late Chisom made rounds online, few days ago as Nigerians mourned over the loss of the intellectual who bagged several awards after her graduation. Reports have it that she died from blood cancer in a hospital in South Africa.

Chukwunoke has disclosed that his daughter initially wanted to be a software engineer but later changed her mind to become a doctor after she saw how less privileged children suffered in Nigeria beacuse of the poor health care system.

He disclosed this in a telephone interview with BBC News Pidgin on Wednesday, November 25.


“She is the kind of girl who always wants the best for other children and above all a very intelligent girl..

“She always wants the best for the African child, that was why I was surprised that she had this thing, even in her sick state, she was still saying dady, remember I have opportunity than other children, let’s know what we would do to help them.

“She always wanted to be a software engineer but looking at what she passed through she felt she had to go into medicine and be a pediatrician so that she can help the African child.”

He also disclosed that the pain started when she was sitting for WAEC but she still aced it.
