Tears As Three Missing Children Were Found Dead In Retired Police Officer’s Compound- See Videos.

Residents of Ugwu Ogede in Itchi, Igo-Eze South LGA of Enugu State were thrown into mourning after the bodies of missing three children were found in a car parked in the compound of a retired police officer.

Reports have it that the victims were sent to get water from a borehole owned by the retired police officer on Sunday but they didn’t return which made their families to raise alarm.

The children were found in Monday, November 23. It was gathered that two other children were also rescued from the car and after the adminstration of first aid, they disclosed that they were Abducted by three masked men.

The three deceased children have been identified as; Chibugo and Chinenye Eze and Ebuka Ene. The rescued victims are;  Kingsley Eze, and Mmasichukwu.

The incident was also confirmed by the traditional monarch of the community,  HRH, Igwe Ike Oke. He stated that he immediately mobilised the local vigilante and the forest guards when the matter was reported to him. He further diclosed that the kids were discovered after a community member went to fetch water and heard the voice of a child calling for help.

In his words;

“We were almost frustrated in our search when a community member who went to fetch water heard the voice of a little child calling her name. She traced the voice to a car that had been parked for over six months in the compound where she discovered the children and raised the alarm,”said the monarch.

“We found three of the children already dead by the time we opened the car. I think they suffocated to death because the car doors were stiffed when we tried to open it at first but we engaged an artisan who forced it open. One of the two children rescued said they went to fetch water but didn’t meet anyone at the borehole because the owner and the entire members of the family had gone to church service,”

“He informed us that they were about going home when three hooded men came from a hill beside the scene of the incident and abducted them into the car and left. He said they were all dressed in red cloths. He also said that the hoodlums returned at the middle of the night to take them away but they couldn’t open the car doors because they were stiffed. We are still investigating”

Heartbroken Father Weeps Uncontrollably As He Sees The Lifeless Body of His Son Allegedly Shot By a Police Officer in Rivers State- See Photos.

A heartbroken father has wept uncontrollably after his 28-year-old son named Gospel Gbaraka was allegedly gunned down by a Marine Police Officer attached to an organisation at the Abonnema Wharf in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Reports have it that Gbaraka was a security guard to a company named Bulk Strategic Reserve Limited before he was killed on Sunday, November 22.

Details of the incident was first posted on Facebook by Comrade Legborsi Yamaabana, the President-General, Ogoni Youth Federation/President, Rivers State Ethnic Youth Leaders Coalition. According to him, the deceased was shot by  on Inspector James.

The statement reads;

“The Ogoni Youth Federation (OYF) worldwide today Sunday 22nd November, 2020 received a distressing and shocking news of the extra-judicial murder of one of its youths and shining lights, Mr. Gospel Gbaraka at the hands of a gun-wielding member of the Nigerian Police Force, one Inspector James, serving at the Marine Base Police Station in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, now being detained at the Mile One Police Station,”

“Late Gospel Gbaraka, prior to being untimely cut short through the barrel of a gun was a 28 year old native of Gwara Community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State and a Security Staff with Bulk Strategic Reserve Limited, a company located at the Abonnema Wharf area of Port Harcourt,”

“Gospel Gbaraka was on duty at his security post this morning. The said Inspector James is also a police security personnel attached to the company. There were no altercations, riot or crisis situation at the company involving groups of persons requiring the use of live bullets to disperse crowds, neither was there any existing problem between the deceased and Inspector James.

“Eyewitness accounts state that Inspector James mistakenly or deliberately discharged his AK 47 assault rifle and thereby killed Mr. Gospel Gbaraka in cold blood.

“As a youth body, we are incredibly pained that the life of this young man has been taken, particularly now that Nigeria is at a crossroad and the world has been awoken to the demands of #EndSars protesters whose focal point is to end the recurring decimal of police brutality and extrajudicial killings. This is one of too many as other Ogoni sons/daughters have been killed by the Nigerian Police in like manner.

“The Ogoni Youths immediately demand for justice over the life of Gospel Gbaraka. We call on the Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command to cause an investigation into this horrific incident and ensure that the erring officer is prosecuted and brought to book. The family of the deceased, at least deserves the consolation that their son’s life was not wasted unjustifiably for nothing.

“Conclusively, OYF invites media outfits to a PRESS CONFERENCE with the parents of Gospel Gbaraka on the above subject matter tomorrow 23rd November, 2020 by 9am at Ernest Ikoli Press Centre (NUJ Secretariat) Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.”

“They’ve Now Become My Children” Speaker Gbajabiamila Promises Scholarship To Children of Newspaper Vendor Killed By His Security Aide.

Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives has offered lifetime scholarships to the children of Ifeanyi Okereke Elechi, the newspaper vendor who was gunned down by his security aide.

Recall that earlier reported that Elechi was shot by one of the security aides when he was hailing the Gbajabiamila in Abuja.

  The speaker visited the deceased family over the weekend and he stated that he now has a commitment to the children as they have now become like his children.

He also met with the Abuja Newspapers Distributors Association (ANDA) and the Newspapers Vendors Association, Abuja (NVAA) to reinstate his commitment to ensuring jgvthat justice is served.

In his words;

”‘Let me address you not as the Speaker but as Femi Gbajabiamila a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, who has been caught unawares in the middle of this unfortunate incident. Many of you that have been following me from the beginning know that championing the cause of the masses has been my life work as a legislator. I have been a champion of the common man and therefore the irony of this is not lost on me and many of us. However, I will continue to do this as long as I live.

“This is a very difficult time for me. Like many have said, you guys have been my friends for years. I have no idea and I don’t know why you guys have always taken to me over the years including campaigning for me in the streets of Abuja during the speakership election. You’ve always been there for me. As you were selling your papers, you were also selling me.

“That’s why each time I pass you guys , I stop to say hi. Some people said why did I stop in the middle of the road? But as we were moving, the lights changed to red which meant to stop. We could have moved on, but I have always instructed my convoy to be law- abiding. So, we stopped and my friends, as usual, besieged the vehicle, shouting and were jubilant.

“Immediately I heard the gunshot, I screamed and said why did they do that? At that time I thought it was just a shot into the air. As we moved on, I asked that they should park the car. It’s against security training as they made me realise, but I insisted and they parked. They said everything was okay. Indeed some other road users behind us did say everything was okay. We moved on. It was later that night that I got the full gist of what had happened. I want to commiserate with you over what happened.”

“Those children have now become my children. I have made commitments to the family to train them until they become adults. I have instructed the lawyers in my office to immediately set up a trust fund for them until adulthood. The incident has touched me in no small measure and in ways difficult for anyone to understand. I am a man of peace and not violence. Also, I have cancelled all my engagements, because I’m indeed mourning, and I can’t be mourning and be celebrating or attending joyous occasions or functions at the same time.’’

“He Was Shot Three Times, His Child Is Just One-month Old” Family of Newspaper Vendor Gunned Down By Speaker’s Aide Call For Justice.

The family of Ifeanyichukwu Okereke Elechi, the newspaper vendor who lost his life after he was shot by a security aide attacked to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila have said that the deceased was shot three times contrary to the reports from the speaker.

Gbajabiamila had earlier published a statement confirming the incident and also stated that the bullet was a stray bullet that was fired into the air to disperse the crowd.

However, the family in a letter addressed to the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu have faulted the report of the speaker. According to them, Elechi was shot three times and not just once.

The latter which was sighted by The Punch was dated November 20 and was signed by their lawyer, Chidiebere Nwachukwu of Nwachukwu Nwachukwu & Co

The letter reads;

‘Re: Gruesome public murder of Ifeanyichukwu Okereke (deceased) by the security guard of Hon Femi Gbajabiamila (Speaker of the House of Representatives) on 19/11/2020’,

“That the deceased who is a fan and supporter of the Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representative (Hon Speaker) on the fateful November 19, 2020, upon sighting the motorcade of the Hon Speaker together with other newspaper vendors around the said traffic light waved cheerfully in their usual manner in solidarity to the motorcade as the said motorcade was passing.

“That the Hon Speaker upon sighting their enthusiasm and support, stopped his vehicle and gifted monies totalling about N9,000.00 to the said supporters led by the deceased.

“That the deceased was about to continue his business when one of the security guards attached to the Hon Speaker opened fire on him and shot him publicly, thrice, two shots in the head and one on his arm at close range and left him to bleed to death on the road.

“That the said motorcade drove off from the scene immediately after the incident without any remorse or offer for medical help to the victim.

“That the representative of all our client was at the scene when the incident took place and that on seeing his elder brother struggle for his life, he rushed to help him and cried for more help. It took about 30 minutes before the DPO of the Police Station at the Federal Secretariat brought his official car to convey the victim to the National Hospital, where he died as a result of the gunshot injuries.

“That our client and others were instructed to come back to the police station today being 20/11/20 after preliminary questioning.

“That this morning they were referred to the FCT Command where they have made statements and were asked to leave as they will be contacted.

“That till this moment, the security guard has yet to be arrested or prosecuted for a gruesome public murder of Ifeanyichukwu Okereke.

“That the said Hon Speaker had gone ahead to release a statement claiming that his ‘convoy was obstructed’ before the incident. This is unfortunate and we shall never allow such brazen murder to be swept under the carpet.”

It was also disclosed that Elechi had a one-month old baby that was supposed to be named on Friday.

“The wife of the deceased is still expecting her husband home till this moment as the naming ceremony of their less than a one-month-old baby is set to be celebrated today being 20/11/2020.”

“We seek your immediate, urgent and decisive intervention in this case as we bring justice not only for the Ifeanyichukwu Okereke; husband, father, brother and son but also for the state (Nigeria).

“We, therefore, demand that if within the next 48 working hours, the culprit security guard attached to the Speaker of the House Representatives is not brought to book; we shall explore all possible legal remedies available to our client in order to bring justice to the deceased and his family.”

Reports have it that Gbajabiamila visited Elechi’s family on Saturday, November 21 and also stated that he would make sure that justice is served.

I Did Not See Any Dead Bodies At Lekki Toll Gate- Movie Director, Onesoul- See Video.

Nigerian movie director, Ideh Chukwuma Innocent popularly known as Onesoul,  has said that he didn’t see any dead bodies at the Lekki Toll Gate when protesters attack on Tuesday, October 20th.

Onesoul also stated that the attack shouldn’t be called a  ‘massacre’ because he was at the scene after the shooting and didn’t witness any death.

He disclosed this to Premium Times on Saturday, October 24 and also took to Instagram to post a video corroborating the interview.

He said;

“I have been hearing people say “Lekki massacre, Lekki massacre.”

“I have to be honest with you if you Google the term “massacre,” massacre is a situation where a group of people were being killed by rebels or the military and going by that particular point, I would have been able to tell you that I saw a lot of dead bodies, this is how they killed them, there were a lot of dead bodies and so it was a massacre.

“But from the time I came, I didn’t see any dead bodies but I can certainly tell you that there was a shooting, an unauthorised shooting. I will call it a raid, I will call it assault. I am going to term it assault and raid.

“That is what I would use. It was an assault and I may be wrong but because I didn’t see those bodies, and I have not seen a family member that has come to cry and say one two or three persons have died.

“If DJ Switch had seen that, she’s in the best position to say that because she was there. I cannot say she’s wrong. I was out of that circle. I was a few meters away. They were at the toll gate and I was a few meters away from them. I wasn’t there, I was at Lekki Phase 1.

“I can’t tell you what the military’s approach on their arrival was. So, I wouldn’t be able to tell you that they shot one, two, three, four, or five people. But I can certainly tell you that I took a lot of gunshot victims to the hospital.

“If I took about 13 people to the hospital myself, minus the ones that the governor confirmed that were injured, he said about thirty, that is forty-something, DJ Switch might not be wrong. I took 13 to the hospital.

“So, if DJ Switch said she saw 15 dead people, by her own records, because she was there so she can speak on that part. I can’t speak on that.”
