So Sad!! Nigerian Footballer Slumps, Dies During Match in Abeokuta

According to Crown FC Media Officer, Tunji Alabi, he recuperated after being attended to by the team medics but later gave up the ghost at the club camp house in Abeokuta and his remains have been deposited at the morgue.

The forward who was popularly known as ‘Eiye’ was training with Gateway FC of Abeokuta with the hopes of signing for them before he slumped on Sunday evening.

The Nigerian football community has been thrown into mourning on Monday, following the death of former Shooting Stars player, Yusuf Usman Usein, who slumped and died while featuring in a friendly game with Gateway United FC, on Sunday, November 15.

Alabi stated that Yusuf Usein was a very hardworking, easy-going, loyal, very dedicated, and God-fearing player.

He said, ”It is so unfortunate that we have lost Usein and we pray that God will forgive him and grant him eternal rest. He was a good and dedicated player when he was playing for us in Ogbomoso.”

Yusuf Usman Usein spent two seasons with the Shooting Stars before he moved to Crown FC of Ogbomoso.

Gateway FC will be playing in the Nigeria’s second tier League which is the National League in the 2020/21 season.

Ghanaians thrown into a state of Mourning after Photos of the 6 young Footballer killed in a gory accident surfaced online

Yesterday, sad news of how 6 young Ghanaian Footballers from offinso in the Ashanti Region lost their lives through an Accident surfaced online.

It was a very sad news as the young footballers who perished were between the ages of 12 years and 16 years.

6 out of the 36 people who were in the vehicle perished while 4 are currently in a critical condition at the OKomfo Anokye Hospital.

Pictures of the kids have surfaced online and Ghanaians have been thrown into a state of mourning.

Kwadwo Asamoah donates to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Ghanaian footballer Kwadwo Asamoah has added his name to the list of Ghanaian players who have made donations during this outbreak of coronavirus.

He donated an amount of $20,000 to the hospital so it can be used to get important items to help fight coronavirus that is gradually spreading in the country.

Being in self isolation in Italy at the moment he sent a delegation to the hospital to make the donation on his behalf.

I am recovering from coronavirus, GH Footballer Hudson-Odoi Speaks.

Chelsea player Hudson- Odoi who tested positive for coronaviris has been seen in a video informing fans about his current health condition.

He stated that he is gradually recovering from the virus and would soon within some few days be totally healthy. He added that he has strictly been following the health guidelines given to him by the doctors.

He ended by thanking fans for their love and support during these times and hoped to see all of them real soon when eh starts playing.

Nigerian Footballer allegedly diagnosed with Coronavirus after the virus hit the country

A Nigerian footballer, King Paul Akpan Udoh, has been diagnosed with Coronavirus (COVID-19). Udoh plays for the Italian Serie C side Pianese and has been quarantined after contracting the illness.

Italy is one of the hardest-hit countries in the world and Udoh is the first professional footballer believed to have caught it in the country. Numerous Serie A games were cancelled last weekend due to the virus and games going ahead this weekend would be played without crowds.

The news arrives on the same day the virus reached Nigeria itself, coincidentally carried there by an Italian national.

Sad!! Italian Footballer Becomes The First Professional Footballer To Be Diagnosed With Coronavirus In Italy

Information currently being gathered by Pinaxonline.com indicates that a player in the third division of Italian football has become the first professional footballer to be diagnosed with the deadly coronavirus.

According to Italian newspaper, La Nazione, the affected player is a 22-years-old who plays for US Pianese ASD. A statement on Thursday read: ‘Two new suspected positive cases of Coronavirus in Tuscany. Both are awaiting confirmation by the Higher Institute of Health.

‘One is a 22-year-old man in the Siena province, a Pianese player, who last Saturday had symptoms in a hotel in Alessandria, where he was training with the team ahead of Sunday’s game [at Juventus U-23s].’

While the identity of the player is yet to be disclosed, his club has taken measures to prevent it from passing to the player’s teammates by canceling the team’s training session.

The player was said to have developed flu-like symptoms on Saturday and was removed from first-team duties as a precaution. He later put himself into voluntary quarantine before testing positive for COVID-19.
