Man United Make Big Move On Signing Eriksen From Tottenham

Manchester United will wait until the end of the season, to sign Christian Eriksen on a free transfer, the UK Telegraph reports. Eriksen’s current deal expires in six months and he has so far refused to sign a new one.

This means the Denmark midfielder will be free to open negotiations with European clubs from January 1. There is a chance Eriksen could leave next month, but clubs may be unwilling to pay Tottenham’s asking price of £40m, when they know he will be available for free in a matter of months.

United have been closely monitoring the situation and believe they will be able to land the player when his deal expires. The prospect of Spurs persuading Eriksen to stay looks unlikely, as he has reportedly told manager Jose Mourinho that he has no intention of staying.

How Tottenham Players Disobeyed Mourinho’s Advise Against Man United

Jose Mourinho has admitted that his side Tottenham did not take the game against Man United too serious after losing 2-1 at Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford double was enough for the Red Devils to shoot themselves above Spurs on the table as Dele Alli scored his side’s only goal. United dominated the match from start to finish as the Lilly Whites struggled to penetrate their opponent’s defense, not until their first shot on target that resulted in a goal.

Mourinho is sad with his team’s performance after failing to rise to the occasion against his former team. “I tried to fight that state of mind, I tried to tell them exactly the way United approach these matches at home – the strong starts, running, pressing, the morale of the supporters.

“When United face the big teams, people think it will be more difficult, as the responsibility changes, but they feel more comfortable.

“We knew what we had to do, but after one minute of the second half, we conceded a goal. United will be happy with the points and overall they deserve it. “We only have ourselves to blame,” Mourinho said.

Mourinho Gives Shocking Reason On Why He Spent 895 Days At Lowry Hotel While At Man United

Mourinho was appointed Manchester United manager in May 2016, and he was sacked in December 2018 after the Red Devils lost a Premier League game against Liverpool. During his reign as Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho spent 895 days at the Lowry hotel and the Portuguese has now explained the rationale behind the decision. Many expected Jose Mourinho to buy a house in Manchester considering how rich he is, but the man known as the ‘Special One’ has a different thought.

Ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League game against Manchester United on Wednesday night, December 4, at Old Trafford, Jose Mourinho gave an insight when being asked by a reporter.

”I would be unhappy if I was in a house on my own. I would have to clean, I don’t want that. I would have to iron, I don’t know how to.

“I would have to cook. Fried eggs and sausages — that’s the only thing I can do. I would be very unhappy.

“I lived in an amazing apartment, it was not a room. It was mine all the time.

“It was not like after one week I had to leave. No, it was mine. I left everything there, I had my television, my books, my computer.

“It was a flat, with a phone. ‘Bring me a coffee latte, please’ or ‘I don’t want to go down for dinner, bring my dinner up,” Jose Mourinho explained according to the report on UK Sun.

I bought 3 cars in a day but I am still unhappy – Kevin Prince Boateng

Kevin-Prince Boateng has expressed his regrets over some of the mistakes he committed which hampered his spell at Tottenham.

The Ghana international after more than ten years following his unsuccessful career at Tottenham has opened up on some of the terrible mistakes, he made which had a toll on him in his early days in England.

In an interview with La Repubblica, Boateng said he didn’t take his career seriously enough as a young player, particularly while he was at Spurs.

“I’ll go back and say: I didn’t treat football as a job. I was an idiot. I had talent, but I trained the bare minimum, an hour on the field. I was the last to arrive and the first to leave. I’d be out with friends. I had money, I lived like a king. I’d never been to the gym. That changes your later career,” he said.

Boateng also explained that he wasted his time and money on extravagant lifestyle and even bought three cars in a day but they didn’t give him the happiness he was looking for during his days at Tottenham.

“I bought three cars in one day when I was at Tottenham: a Lamborghini, a Hummer and a Cadillac. To the youngsters, I tell them: “You cannot buy happiness”.

Family issues and trouble getting into Spurs’ squad, he explained, got to him, with the cars giving him some semblance of happiness at the time.

“I didn’t play, I had family problems, I was out of the squad. I was looking for happiness in material things: a car makes you happy for a week. I bought three to be happy for three weeks.”

The Ghanaian attacker is a well-travelled player, having played for clubs like Tottenham, Dortmund, Portsmouth, AC Milan, Schalke O4, Las Palmas, Frankfurt, Sassuolo, Barcelona and Fiorentina, since he left his boyhood club Hertha Bsc in 2007.
