Two dead, 5000 houses destroyed in Kano

Two people have been confirmed dead and 5,000 houses have being destroyed by flood in Dambatta Local Government Area of Kano state.

The incident has been confirmed by the Kano State Emergency Management Agency.

The Executive Secretary of SEMA, Saleh Jili, confirmed the incident on Wednesday. Jili said that not less than  5,000 houses were destroyed by the flood.

He also called into the Ministry for Rural and Community Development and the local government areas to see to it that sanitations are carried out for the regular cleaning and declogging of drainages.  

He also sympathized with the victims of the flood.

“We were in Dambatta LGA to sympathise with the victims and also donate relief items. We donated about 24 items to ameliorate the effect of the disaster,” Jili said.
