The convoy of former APC chairman Comrade Adams Oshiomole, was involved in an accident on September 1st, along Benin-Lagos bypass, Ovia North- East LGA in Benin city, Edo state.
The incident happened at about 12pm, when a vehicle on the road, lost control and ran into Oshiomole’s convoy. The former governor was actually on his way to join the campaign train of APC Edo state governorship candidate, Pastor Osaghae Ize-Iyamu at Usen in preparation for the September 19, 2020 Edo state gubernatorial elections.
This development was made known to the public via a statement signed by Oshiomole’s media aide, Victor Oshoke.
“Some minutes after 12 pm today, Tuesday September 1, 2020, there was a motor accident involving the convoy of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, along Benin-Lagos by-pass before Oluku junction.”
In the statement it was also revealed that two policemen attached to the envoy are dead, while two others are battling for their lives, as a result of serious injuries.
“We are sad to report that two police personnel in the Toyota Hilux truck lost their lives while two others who are in critical condition receiving treatment at a hospital in the state.
“Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and other persons in the convoy, apart from those indicated above did not sustain any injury.” he said.
Oshoke went further to empathize with the families of the deceased.
“While we pray for the quick recovery of the injured policemen, we extend our condolences to the families of the departed.” he added.
