Professor Emeritus Stephen has dropped a piece of adviced for unemployed graduate seeking to get employed soon. According to him, its high time these people take charge of their own life by seeking for apprenticeship from a trade just to have certain basic skills for survival.
He claim this will help the graduate establish themselves while waiting for the white color jobs they have always dreamed to have. On the 24th episode in July, Professor Adei of the Springboard Virtual University Program with Mr Albert Ocran Present said the higher Education only helps one to develop an individual intellectual potential.
According to him, those with higher education will prosper in the craft industry because they will be able to put their intellectual brain to work to expand the industry. At the Program, an ex dean of the popular GIMPA school revealed how one of his former student has employed over 17 people after he helped him get in the business of handicraft .
In his words, he said ” Some of them must be willing to reskill when you finish legon excuse me to say with Political science…I don’t say its important. For me, all the degrees build your mind intellectually. But how many people have advertise and said I want a political Scientist to employ. No, but your mental capacity has been enhanced. If you want to go and learn apprenticeship, I tell you withing a year you are a master craft man in an area and you are the type who will be able to employ other people”
“But you have finished History, you will go and be their apprentice for two years and you have the capacity of setting up your joinery and you will employ other people. very soon you will not be the one hitting the nails. SO, The reskilling is important for you to do”
