You would recall that we on a viral video which has been sighted by our outfit regarding the General Secretary of the NDC confronting a group of military men purported to have blocked some persons from exercising their rights which is registering for the Voters ID card.
Asiedu Nketia could be seen on phone talking to a higher authority and explaining that he has encountered military men frustrating the citizens who are trying to exercise their rights. He could be heard saying and I quote;
” Soldiers are not part of our registration, so they have no business blocking legitimate people. I am saying that because you are not doing anything”.
In a latest report, Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah speaking in an interview with Joynews disclosed that accusations of intimidation by security officials at some voters registration must be investigated. This is in regards to the video f Asiedu Nketiah going round on social media arguing with military officials.
The Minister also stated that more clarity is needed to determine the way forward. He also had this to say and i quote; ” We sighted these videos of the General Secretary of the NDC appearing to be in some heated exchanges and on the phone with some persons.. It’s a bit unclear but it is one of those things that need to be investigates so that we have clarity of what is transpiring’.
In a latest video which has been spotted by our outfit, the people of Banda could be seen fearlessly challenging soldiers who have allegedly been deployed intimidate them to stop them from registering. Whilst the intimidation was on going and others were trying to calm nerves down, a soldier decided to lash a resident with his belt for misbehaving but guess what, the residents ganged up on the military men in retaliation but calm was quickly restored by these same residents.
