Tragedy has struck in Port Harcourt after eight people were lost their lives in a stampede during the distribution of Christmas palliatives on Tuesday, December 15.
Pinaxonline.com gathered that the incident occurred in Rumidara Town, Obio/Akpor LGA, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Reports have it that Ink Nation had earlier announced that the event.
Hundreds of those qualified for the palliatives, gathered at Zone 2 Inksmarket center at TII AMA GALAXY East West Road very early but the struggle later turned bloody as there was a stampede and eight people reportedly lost their lives.
As of the time of filing this report, official of the National Emergency Management Agency(NEMA) have evacuated the dead bodies and security operatives have restored calm to the area. Meanwhile, videos and photos of the incident are currently making rounds online.
