According to her, she was in a “dark moment” and the suicidal thoughts and it was intense for two nights in a row. The Empire star revealed that she had purchased again not too long ago and it was in a safe and she thought of using the gun to end her life.
The 50-year-old mum of one revealed this while speaking to psychologist, Dr. LaSHonda Green on her show #PeaceOfMindWithTaraji.
In her words;
“I was in a dark place. For a couple of days, I couldn’t get out of the bed. I didn’t care — that’s not me — then, I started having thoughts about ending it.”
”It happened two nights in a row, I purchased a gun, not too long ago, and it’s in the safe, y’know? I started like, if I could go in there right now and end it all… cause I want it to be over like, but it’s in my head, you know?”
She further revealed that she thought about her 26-year-old son, Marcella Johnson but at tht time she concluded he was grown and would get over her death.
“I said, ‘he’s grown, he’ll get over it.’ You know what I mean? I just didn’t care. I felt myself withdrawing. People were calling me [and] I wasn’t responding. I didn’t care.” She said.
However, she was able to talk to one of her friends who helped her get rid of the suicidal thoughts.
