Nigerian activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore has recounted how the incident of his arrest happened on New Year’s Eve.
Recall that Pinaxonline.com earlier published that Sowore and four others were arrested during the #RevelotionNow crossover procession in FCT , Abuja.
The activists; Sowore, Damilare Adenola, Juwon Sanyaolu, Kimrere and Peter were arraigned before the Wise Magistrate Court on Monday, January 4 based on the charged of Criminal conspiracy, Public disturbance and unlawful Assembly.
Sowore while speaking to news men revealed that the procession was invaded by Mobile Police officers who came in seven vans. He said that the policemen pounced on one of the activists and he told them to stop the hits but they reacted by beating him too.
“I told them to stop hitting him but they pounced on me too and broke my nose.. it was mobile policemen
“When they took me to the Abattoir, I discovered that the Nigerian government hasn’t ended SARS”
Meanwhile, the five activists have been remanded in Kuje Prison till their bail is perfected.
