The Governor of Kastina State, Bello Masari has debunked the rumours that ransom was paid before the abducted schoolboys were released.
Governor Masari stated that the release was made possible with negotiation and not payment of ransom. He said that the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) played a key role in the negotiation.
He added that the personnels of the Nigerian military, the police and his Special Senior Adviser on Security, Mallam Kastina were involved in the negotiation. In the video released, he spoke in Hausa to DWTV Hausa on Thursday night, December 17.
In his words;
“We did not pay ransom to the kidnappers, it was purely negotiation.
“Those involved in the negotiation include my adviser, some top military and police operatives, members of Miyetti Allah; (they) where all involved in the negotiation.”
